Captains Selected for the 2004 Season - Four members of the 2004 senior class were announced as team captains for the upcoming season following Friday morning's practice. DE Adell Duckett, LB Mike Smith, OL Daniel Loper and IR Nehemiah Glover were named team captains in a vote by the football team.

Season Ticket Sales Continue on Strong Pace - Fans of the Red Raiders have come out in record numbers during the off-season and have accounted for a record 36,674 season tickets for the upcoming season as of Friday morning. Season ticket sales will continue through Fri., Sept. 17.

Student Ticket Allotment Among Nation's Best - Texas Tech is among six schools in the Big 12 Conference that allots more than 10,000 seats to students on game days in Jones SBC Stadium. In a recent survey conducted by the University of Colorado Sports Information Office, Tech students have 11,662 seats reserved at Jones SBC Stadium, which is fourth in the league, behind Texas A&M (30,000), Texas (20,000) and Colorado (12,000). The total also ranks 11th nationally.

Game Week Prep Schedule - Following a 3:30 p.m. workout Saturday, the Red Raiders enter game week preparations Sun., Aug. 29, with an 8 p.m. practice. The team will take Monday off and practice at 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. After a brief walk-thru Friday, the team will board the plane for Dallas and the season-opening matchup against SMU. The Red Raiders and the Mustangs open the 2004 season Sat., Sept. 4, at Gerald J. Ford Stadium on the SMU campus. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
